Fawley Infant School is a small school with a big heart in Southampton. They offer an integrated and creative curriculum that ignites children’s curiosity to learn and is based on six learning values: independence, collaboration, thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence and spirituality. They are a part of The Inspire Learning Partnership, a Multi-academy Trust.
Fawley were looking to develop their outdoor play area as they had some old equipment that needed removing and replacing with new equipment. They liked the idea of one large item of play equipment, such as a Trim Trail, but were open to suggestions. They were also concerned about their slippery decked area.
We incorporated a Double Tower (with appropriate safer surfacing) as this provides significant play value for the pupils for many years to come. Exchanging the old and worn train for a Linked Tower Trail and Just Like Grass surfacing created a low-level area for social and imaginative play. Refurbishing the existing decked stage area to include blue Play Grass makes it less slippery and visually more appealing.

The dbdplay team have been absolutely fantastic in helping us envision, plan and develop our fantastic new garden!
The children (and adults) have had so much fun exploring the bug hotel, performing on stage and getting tangled in the spider web!
Our garden is now truly an all year-round place to learn, explore & play. Thank you so much.
